"A Place of Rescue" and "A Journey to Peace."

Scatter Joy Acres

Scatter Joy Acres  is a 26-acre urban Rescue/Animal Therapy ranch in Omaha, NE.
We take in abused, neglected and abandoned animals. Those we that don’t find loving forever home are trained
to become therapists in our Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) program.

Our certified AAT program provides help for those in greatest need in our community:
at-risk children, the developmentally disabled, seniors, homeless, the mentally ill, veterans, and those re-entering society.

Contact with animals is educational.  Too many urban children miss out on this valuable opportunity

At Scatter Joy Acres, we have ample opportunities for children to safely interact with a wide variety of animals that are well socialized and engaging.

Whether you come to the ranch or we bring the ranch to your school or daycare, the opportunities are endless.  So is the joy.

School Education

Scatter Joy Aces is an educational facility that teaches children about animals in a way that will change their perspective about themselves and the world around them.  We want to show children that even though we all look different, we are all the same inside. Every living being has language and needs food, water, shelter and love.

We teach the children why roosters crow, why pigs love mud, why goats chew, and how each species communicates through body language. Here at Scatter Joy Acres, kids gain an understanding of animals, see how much we all have in common, and get to expand their empathy for all living beings.

After our presentation, the children get to visit the horses, brush the cows, give the pigs tummy rubs, talk to the turkeys, play with the goats and the sheep, and so much more. It is an educational, hands-on experience that they will never forget. Our program is appropriate for all ages. We work with kids from K-12.
