Scatter Joy Acres

Scatter Joy Acres  is a 26-acre urban Rescue/Animal Therapy ranch in Omaha, NE.
We take in abused, neglected and abandoned animals. Those we that don’t find loving forever home are trained
to become therapists in our Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) program.

Our certified AAT program provides help for those in greatest need in our community:
at-risk children, the developmentally disabled, seniors, homeless, the mentally ill, veterans, and those re-entering society.

What is a
HumpDay Walkabout

#HumpDayWalkabouts are an opportunity for people on the street to get up close and personal with Zebediah the camel and to increase awareness of the work that Scatter Joy Acres does in Omaha.

He is a rather unusual fellow on the urban streets. As such, he draws attention wherever he goes. He happily poses for photos and selfies.

Zebediah is a one year old dromedary (one-hump) camel and resides at Scatter Joy Acres, a 26-acre ranch at 49th and Newport in Omaha. He and the ranch’s other animal residents provide animal therapy for developmentally disabled adults and children, veterans, seniors and at-risk youth. Most of the ranch’s 100+ residents are formerly abandoned or neglected animals.

Scatter Joy Acres is a part of Scatter Joy Acres, a 501c3. Scatter Joy Acres combined efforts address the needs of Omaha’s vulnerable citizens.

The ranch is also available for outings, birthdays, picnics, campouts, celebrations, team building and corporate outings.

Donations are always welcome and they help subsidize the costs of running the ranch and providing the therapy.
